Claudio Rivera-Seguel

Claudio Rivera-Seguel is a Chilean-Canadian multi-disciplinary artist, curator and educator investigating in cultural initiatives at the intersection of art, science and technology.  In 1992, he graduated from the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture, specializing in public art projects. He has participated in numerous international exhibitions, public art interventions and telepresece collaborations including Festival Internacional de la Imagen, Istanbul Biennial, New Forms Festival and has given workshops and lectures at various educational and cultural institutions such as AND Festival and ISEA2009-2010. Rivera-Seguel has been the recipient of many grants from both the Chilean and Canadian governments having been awarded the Millennium Grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Canada in 1999.

He is co-founder and director of the “Corporación Cultural Arte & Tecnología” (ArTeK), a Chilean Cultural NGO which fosters the development of art, science and technology initiatives, having produced various international cultural exchange initiatives such as OrganiRandom (7e Manifestation Internacional de video et art electronique) and DigitalChile2008 (Société des arts technologiques). He has been a member of the editorial board of Escaner Cultural and Alsaprima (both Chilean base art publications) and has contributed to establishing several independent and academic Art, Science and Technology related networks in Chile and Latin America such as No2s and RedCATSur.
